Standard Review Panel
An expert panel reviews the Safer Gambling Standard on an annual basis to incorporate changes in regulatory requirements and good practice guidelines, the opinions of GamCare service users, and new insights from academic research.
The panel consists of independent experts in the field of safer gambling and does not include a representative of the gambling industry.
Meet our panel
Jas Bindarh
GamCare Board Member
A financial services regulatory risk specialist who joined GamCare’s Board in April 2023. Has also worked extensively with charities and organisations in the gambling harms space, as well as mental health service providers as a service user consultant.
Prof. David Forrest
Academic
Professor of Economics at University of Liverpool with a special interest in gambling.
Karen McArthur
Non-Executive Director
An experienced non-executive director who has had key roles on the boards of several other standards with a focus on sustainable business.
Adam Rivers
Partner, KPMG
Partner at KPMG and specialist consultant and economist for the gambling industry.
Dan Waugh
Consultant
Provides consultancy to gambling businesses on the development of responsible gambling programmes and has also written extensively on regulatory matters. Previously, Chairman of the Young Gamblers Education Trust (YGAM) and worked at The Rank Group.
GamCare service users
GamCare service users are at the heart of everything we do. We canvas the opinions of our service users through surveys, panels and anecdotal feedback and these opinions flow through to the Standard each year.
